Reliable kits every time
This was my third kit from The Fretwire, picked up a DIY Hollow Body Guitar Kit this time. Like always, everything was packed well and arrived in good condition. I've bought a few kits from them over the past year – an LP style and a J Bass before this one – and the quality has been consistent across the board. The wood always feels good, and the hardware is decent enough for the price point. I usually swap out the pickups, but that's just my preference. Fun project, good kit
I grabbed an ST Style Guitar Kit last month 'cause I wanted a new project, and it turned out pretty cool. Shipping was faster than I thought, got here in about five days. The parts were all there, no missing screws or anything. The neck felt decent and the body was alright, needed a good sanding though, which was fine. Building it took me a few evenings after work, but it was a good way to unwind. The instructions were okay, I had to look up a couple of things online, but that happens. Ended up with a pretty playable guitar, sounds good for what it is. Definitely felt like I got my money's worth.
